Boesenbergia rotunda [Family: Zingiberaceae (Ginger)] known as Finger Root is a daily food ingredient and traditional herbal medicine in Southeast Asia and Indochina.
It has been shown to possess anti-allergic, anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-ulcer activities and has also shown wound healing.

Based on the established literature on the aphrodisiac property of B. rotunda and its possible mode of action, this review article attempted to compile that B. rotunda could be further explored for the development of a potential aphrodisiac treatment.
